Last month I had the pleasure of photographing Mayor Nutter for Philadelphia Mag. We had a blast and even got him to sing a little Rappers Delight!
A few weeks ago I was commissioned to photograph PR legend Nadine Johnson for the New York Observer. Nadine was very very busy and only was able to give me about 5 minutes of her time, so my setup had to be super simple. My key light was a 2'x2' soft box with a grid and for fill i bounced a strobe off the back white wall.
Here are the results.
A few weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing the famed photographer Russell James at Pier59 Studios . It's always nerve racking photographing other photographers, but Russell was an absolute joy to work with. Here are a few photos we got in the 10 minutes I had with Russell.
Last week I was commissioned to photograph James Ledbetter, the editor in chief of Inc. Magazine. Here are some of my favorites as well as the tears.
Early August I was contacted by the awesome folks over at Philadelphia Magazine to photograph Gene Marks and Grace Benjamin for a story on why College Sucks. Here are some of the images and tears from the shoot.
Last week I was contacted by the photo editor of The New York Observer. She had asked me to photograph the cover story focusing on billionaires and celebrities blissing out as transcendental meditation charges back into the mainstream.
My team and I woke up at 3am to drive into New York City for a 7am shoot time. Upon arrival, we scouted out some great locations in the Financial District and prepared ourselves for the talent to arrive.
Here are a few photos from the shoot as well as a BTS video created by Brinton Duncan.
Last month I was contacted by Philly Mag to photograph some females at Body Cycle in center city. Here are a few of the photos as well as a tear sheet from the shoot.
Sometimes when you don't have an assistant you have to use the camera timer and yourself for test shots.
A few months ago I had the opportunity to photograph James Fuhrman. James is an amazing sculptor that makes beautiful works of art.
In this series of photos I photographed James in his home studio and really tried to capture who he is, which is a fun, energetic, creative genius.
James is Pictured above standing next to the beginning of his latest sculpture. It does not look like much now but will eventually be 7ft tall and made completely of wood.
Below James was explaining his sculptures to me and contemplating on how to fix a mistake on the sculpture above.
The images above and below are of James fixing his mistake, which was a very tedious process. With just the smallest mis cut he could throw off the whole flow and have to start from scratch again.
Stay tuned for more work.
The other week I had the opportunity to photograph Ryan Hyde from R.Hyde Guitars. Ryan is a mastermind when it comes to building custom guitars and basses. Some of things Ryan can do is build electric guitars and basses, plus a range of repairs and customizations. He has standard models that can be customized in terms of wood, electronics, number and spacing of strings, etc. Custom shape inquiries are also welcome.
Here are some photos we made in his shop. Enjoy.
